RLE’s FDS-Wi Wireless Sensor Network Manager receives and aggregates signals from wireless transmitters and relays them to facility monitoring systems. This data is then displayed through the FDS-Wi’s web interface, which provides a centralized view of the sensors and their current readings, and enables direct alarm notification.
This device streamlines communications and allows an unlimited variety of wireless equipment to communicate directly with a BMS or NMS. The FDS-Wi can be integrated into larger systems via SNMP or BACnet. Modbus protocols can serve as a network repeater to convey alarm status information to a centralized location.
The convenient wireless design reduces installation and system expansion costs frequently associated with hard-wired sensors and systems. The FDS-Wi operates over a wireless mesh network, which helps increase system performance and allows sensors to relay signals from other sensors farther away from the main unit. Point repeaters can also be used to increase the distance between the FDS-Wi and the wireless sensors.
