The New De Facto Standard in Wireless Monitoring?
We think so (and so do our customers)!
RLE Technologies’ WiNG wireless monitoring products are quickly becoming the go-to solution for customers who are looking for an easy, reliable way to monitor environmental parameters in their facilities. WiNG is an innovative, proprietary wireless monitoring solution that provides customers with an option that saves both time and money over a traditional wired solution. WiNG:
- Eliminates the need, time and expense of running wiring everywhere
- Simplifies the deployment and relocation of sensors
- Is designed to help eliminate signal interference to ensure reliability
- Provides a web interface that is robust enough to be used as a stand-alone system
- AND provides more options for BMS/NMS integration than any other system on the market!
Continually Adding New Sensors to the Product Line
WiNG’s monitoring capabilities aren’t just limited to standard temperature and temperature/humidity sensors. The WiNG-TH sensor can provide a calculated dew point. RLE’s world-renowned SeaHawk leak detection spot detectors and leak detection cable work with a WiNG-LD sensor. Other specialized WiNG sensors allow customers to integrate any other sensor on the market that provides a dry contact, 0-20mA, 0-5VDC, 0-10VDC or thermistor output into a WiNG system, ensuring the system is completely adaptable to the unique needs that any customer may have.
Secure Sensor Communications
Customer security and confidence is at the foundation of every product RLE manufactures. First and foremost, don’t confuse sensor technologies. WiFi sensors communicate directly with your wireless network, while WiNG sensors operate at 900MHz (domestic) and 868MHz (international) frequencies and communicate directly with only the WiNG-MGR. There are inherent risks with a monitoring system that is based on WiFi sensors and requires you to incorporate a WiFi router on your network as an access point. WiNG sensors do not communicate with WiFi routers. They communicate directly with the WiNG-MGR, which is designed specifically for the purpose of monitoring the sensors, providing a GUI of the current conditions, alarm notification, and providing a way to easily integrate the wireless sensors into a network or building management system. The WiNG-MGR has a wireless receiver but not a wireless transmitter so bi-directional wireless communication with it is impossible. This protects the integrity of your system and its data.
Phenomenal Battery Life
Battery life is another obstacle that many wireless sensor users face. It is not uncommon to find wireless systems that are a maintenance nightmare – they require batteries to be changed every few years. In a site with only a handful of sensors, this is not much of an issue. When your facility requires hundreds of sensors, battery changes can easily become a time consuming, expensive, seemingly never-ending activity. WiNG sensors address these maintenance concerns. Without the use of a range extender, WiNG sensors and transmitters have a battery life of up to 12 years while supporting a transmission range of up to 600 feet (183 meters), and communicating their readings every 10 – 20 seconds. This design increases data reliability and visibility to changing conditions, while keeping the total cost of ownership much more reasonable than other available options.
